Description

The complete 72+ hours long standard PDC course certified by the British Permaculture Association. 12 days packed with practical learning and the extensive knowledge needed to live sustainably on this planet. You will gain fundamental understanding of permaculture design, ethics and principles. The course covers a wide range of topics from food forests to natural building techniques.

Permaculture design is relevant in any climate, landscape or situation. For example: urban balcony, backyard, tiny house, behavioral change, ecosystem restorations, business or farming systems. Permaculture is much more than gardening - a tool and philosophy that will change your life!

4x long weekends

The course is structured as four long weekends Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 12 days with sessions from 9:30-17:30. It is required to attend to minimum of 9,5 days to get the Permaculture Design Certificate

20-22 sept in Ísafjörður, Gróandi CSA & Kúluhúsið Geodesic dome

8-10 nóv close to Selfoss, Alviðra nature conservation and education center​

24-26 jan close to Selfoss, Alviðra nature conservation and education center

7-9 march, Sesselíuhús in Sólheimar sustainable community

The course will be facilitated in english with language support in Icelandic when needed.​

Course fee

We want the financial status of individuals not to be an obstacle to learning permaculture. That's why we'll take a leap of faith and hold a PDC permaculture design course where the participants decide for themselves how much they pay in course fees.

In order for this to be possible, we have a disclaimer that the course will only be held if at least 20 people have registered and paid at least ¼ of the course fee they plan to pay, 2 weeks before the start of the course.

We ask individuals who can afford to pay fully for the course to do so, or even pay more and "pay it forward" to increase the possibility of covering all the costs.

If a company pays the course fees, the minimum course fee is 170.000,- kr

Note that it is possible to apply for a grant from unions for participation in this course.

Accomodation

On the two weekends in Alviðra there will be an option for some of the course participants to stay over night at Alviðra without additional cost. If the cost of accommodation in Ísafjörður or Sólheimar would limit your ability to participate, please contact us and we will see if we can help you find simple accommodation that may cost little or nothing.
