Totel.ly is a social enterprise: a mission-based organisation. We have pledged 51% of our profit to reinvest in our mission. Our impact is focused in the areas of our 3 core pillars: connection to self, community building and nature connection and stewardship.
Totel.ly's is inspired by regenerative design (see article main image) moving beyond sustainability, towards restoration and regeneration. To us, our journey is without end. To regenerate is to continuously evolve and renew. The process is open-ended and inclusive.
Our positive environmental impact is anchored by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of restoration and regeneration.
4.7 Shifting our habits and lived experience to one that is more sustainable and even more so moving towards a regenerative lifestyle. Within this practice we emphasize peace and non-violence and appreciate and celebrate cultural diversity. Totelly is aligned by all its offerings with its 3 core pillars: self connection, connection with others and nature connection that educates sustainable lifestyles within each local place.
Continuous economic growth is not sustainable. This SDG honors the whole-system perspective of growth. Growth is inclusive of all capitals: social, ecological, spiritual, cultural, and human knowledge. Totelly aims to change the meaning of work with its service users to Right Livelihood.
8.3 We aim to grow the quiet leaders that we call community facilitators (micro entrepreneurs) thereby giving them the opportunity to express their creativity and innovation through entrepreneurial activities.
8.4 Totelly offers and works with partners to share education and learning with the aim to reduce consumption and minimise resource use through events that inspire local communities to take action in their lives.
12.3, 5 and 8. Totelly offers and works with partners to share education and learning with the aim to reduce food waste, reduction of general waste offer alternatives such as upcycling and repurposing. Our main emphasis is on offering learning experiences in regenerative lifestyles to live in harmony with nature. This is achieved through events that inspire individuals to take action in their lives.
13.3 Climate change is a reality we humans now face. The scale of which could seem inaccessible to the individuals. Our approach through education and community initiatives aims to empower individuals to see what is working in the world and amplify these causes and initiatives.
Totelly works with both local (Iceland) partners and international partners that align with Totelly values and the 3 core pillars.
Restoration is also referred to as conservation. The work of restoring wetlands and forests is an example of ecosystem restoration.
To support global restoration efforts, Totelly has committed to be part of the United Nations decade on ecosystem restoration. We advocate ecosystem restoration through our articles and social media. As we establish local connections, as we grow our local network we will offer activities for our Totelly Humans to act locally in restoration, gaining awareness of existing values and approaches. We aim to support and collaborate with respect to the perspectives of each locality.
Regeneration of the environment and cultures. Ultimately, it is people, our perspectives and lifestyles which need collective reform. We need to transform the way we see ourselves in relation to earth. Moving from the narrative of separation to one of interbeing, where our decisions and discourse arise from a place of care, stewardship and desire for all life to thrive.
Regeneration is the journey of Totelly, and we invite the Totelly Humans, to embark upon it with us. A process of enquiry, a process of trying new ways of thinking and being in the world. Taking one step at a time and learning together by asking the questions that invite personal and collective reflection. The solutions that we choose to act on today will most likely be revisited in the future, superseded with newer solutions that arise from asking the “right” questions.
